Located some 2 Km from the town of Alcalá de Xivert along an asphalted road that turns off right from C/ Barón de Alcahalí is a monolith in the shape of a thin truncated pyramid set on a square pedestal with a total height of 4.30 m. On the upper third o f the column is a plaque on each of the sides with an inscription telling the store of this monument.

It was erected on the very same site of King Carlos IV's camp, when he was attending a hunt organised in his honour during the monarch's visit to the town with his wife an children on 22 and 23 de November 1802, on the occasion of a journey from Valencia to Barcelona to attend the weddings of Prince Fernando with the Infanta of Naples Maria Antonia, and of the Infanta de España with the Prince of the Two Sicilies. Accompanying the king was Manuel Godoy (prince of peace, Captain General of the Armies and Admiral of the Spanish Fleet). It is then recorded that His Majesty the King honoured his fame as an outstanding hunter by shooting three partridges and a hare with only four shoots.
