The Capicorb Tower is located in the farmhouse of the same name, in the outlying municipal area of Alcalà de Xivert. The Xivert castle had a numerous group of subsidiary towers forming part of the castle's surveillance and warning system. Among these the best known example is the Capicorb Tower. An ancient notary document made out by one Miguel Villaforta reports that the Master of the Montesa Order, Fray Luis Despuig ordered it to be built on 28 April 1427 at the mouth of the San Miguel river. The tower is square shaped and rises to 13 metres. It is easy to access along the Capicorb road, or via the l'Atall road that crosses the river near the shore. At present it is a private house and preserves very little of its original structure.A few metres further on, the ancient settlement of Renquet preserves a building pertaining to the former customs house of the "Crow's Cape", in front of the Capicorb beaches
